We, christians often talk about how God will never ask us to do what we can't. Have you heard that?
And as I have spent some time thinking about that.........I do not think that is true.
All over the place in Scripture Jesus is asking people to do what they can not.
"I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home."
Jesus tells the paralytic to get up.....which he can't
"He told her, "Go, call your husband and come back."
Jesus tells the woman at the well to go get her husband.......which she can't
"he said. "Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor..."
Jesus tells the rich young ruler to sell off all his riches.......which he can't
"he answered: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself."
Jesus tells the expert in the law to love God and his neighbor.........which he can't
Jesus told alot of folks to do what they couldn't do. Why?
I am thinking so that they recognized their NEED.
I am in desperate NEED.
I can not........but the beautiful mystery of Christ is that He can.
Because of Him and through him, the paralytic gets up, the woman at the well stops thirsting, the rich young ruler could sell all that he had, and everyday we are enabled to love God and our neighbors abundantly.

waiting........sometimes its fun. sometimes its torture.
I would like to clarify that I am not actually being tortured but it is just an expression of sorts.

guess what I found at my grocery store!!
When I was a child I used to eat these ALL the dang time.
I also remember that they had this like point system on the stick and if you collected a certain amount of points you could trade them in for stuff. It was so cool.
Anyways, I am stoked!!
